Special demonstration by Chef Scott Durrah, recently featured in Denver's Westword Magazine.
Named “Best of LA”, Chef Scott turned his first restaurant, The Jamaican Café, into a Santa Monica favorite. With partner Wanda James, Scott opened his mile high eatery, 8 Rivers, in 2006 and was named “Best of Denver” by Westword and “Top of the Town” by 5280. In December of 2009, they opened the Apothecary of Colorado - the most complete Gourmet Shoppe in Denver for MMJ. AOC carries not only offer candy, cakes and pies, but also real food made by real chefs, including a line of fine food created by Durrah himself.
After graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder I attended the School of Natural Cookery, nestled in the foothills of the Rockies. I have been so fortunate to build a career out my passion for food and wellness. I believe that locally harvested, sustainably grown produce, as the focal point of our meals, provides us with the most straightforward path to living healthy and vital lives. Simply by choosing food that properly nourishes our body, we are capable of taking the role of healer from the hands of western medicine and placing it in our own. The sense of empowerment gained by this piece of knowledge is profound.
