Each month the 3rd Thursdays Comedy Contest's audience has chosen their favorite comedian of the night, and for this anniversary show we're bringing back ALL OF YOUR FAVORITE COMICS! Sarah Kennedy, Matt Peterson, John Cuellar, AJ Martinez, Drew Wayne, Smitty, Black Mike, and Dan Rascon all duke-it-out...comedy style...for your vote and the crown of 3rd Thursday's Comedy Champion. And as if that weren't enough, you'll get an extra dose of comedy chaos with your host, Rusty Rutherford aka Rusta Rhymes, who has been called the "lovechild of Eminem and Katt Williams with a southwestern spin." (examiner.com)

Last year's anniversary show sold out fast, so get you're tickets now! The show's 18+ and just $6 in advance and $8 day of show.

Rusty Rutherford’s twisted comedy has "More Energy Than A High School Cheer Squad" (Montreal Fringe Festival). You'll question if Rusty is sane one minute with his dark, offbeat humor, then question if he's a "Comedic Genius" (Rusty's mom) the next when he seems to incorporate every member of the audience into an on-the-spot freestyle rap. Rutherford's comedic journey has taken him to venues of all shapes and sizes across America, Canada, and Santa Fe and has even landed him a spot on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Rutherford graduated from the University of New Mexico where he studied Theatre, Media Arts, Psychology, and Communication and has been member of Blackout Theatre Company and Eat, Drink and be Larry sketch comedy troupe. He has trained with Tricklock Theatre in Albuquerque, NM and The Annoyance Theatre in Chicago, IL. Whatever you expect, throw it out the window and expect the unexpected in what can only be described as structured insanity.

3rd Thursday’s Comedy Contest was created by comic performer and writer Rusty Rutherford in 2007 as an attempted to bring Albuquerque’s theatre and stand up communities together as one in an any-thing-goes atmosphere hard to find at most comedy clubs. Since then, the show has grown and evolved into one of Albuquerque’s longest running comedy shows with a unique vibe that leaves both audience members and performers coming back month after month for more. Many new up-and-coming comedians got their start at 3rd Thursday’s and have gone on to take their 505-flavored comedy across the continent.

"Terrene" is a mid-13th century English word meaning 'earthly' or 'worldly.'

100% locally owned and operated, Terrene Hookah thrives with the support of its community. The lounge consists of a diverse crowd with a wide array of hookah and atmosphere tastes. The business was created in 2010 morphing from an underground cafe-style establishment into the hookah lounge that it is today. Terrene caters to Albuquerque's local art and music following and encourages creativity among its customers through shisha flavor mixes to the eclectic event themes hosted on a regular basis.

Influenced by Egyptian hookah lounges in suburban Cairo, Terrene re-defines hookah by fusing American pop-culture with the the ancient art of water-pipe indulgence.
Terrene is an ever-evolving establishment, constantly striving to provide the best service and hookah setting to its patrons. There is a suggestion box section on this website for our customers to receive a response to any subject they would like to address anonymously. The company will take all suggestions and use them to continue improving and growing into the most ideal image of an American-style hookah lounge.

We at Terrene Hookah sincerely wish you the perfect hookah experience at our lounge.
