Believers is the long standing, ever-gestating brainchild of Tyler and Wesley Powell.  Brothers.  Interweaving careful melodies, driving basslines and subtle samples over a rhythm-heavy backbone, each song has a love of pop at its core. Since convening in the Heart of the Heartland they chanced upon a much stronger sound when they recruited a rhythm section: cousin Travis Boots and two drummers, Taylor Bacon and Josh Cochran, who have brought an unforeseen energy to their live aspect. For the last nine months they have been making time to complete their first release, now finally pressed into vinyl.  With a drive to achieve the goal in a DIY fashion, they recorded, produced, and mixed the thing themselves at home and at their community practice space, the Hairhole.  They are currently booking a fall tour spanning from Columbia, MO to Portland, ME.

Heroes & Villians
"Walter Alias describes its sweeping sound as "cinematic," and it's not hard to imagine the quartet's swelling choruses set against some critical moment in a movie about the apocalypse... This is serious pop-rock, meant to be heard by the masses." -----Crystal K. Wiebe:The Pitch----- Walter has a new CD out, a self-released number that looks and sounds like a major release. I've barely had a chance to listen, but I can tell it's big, serious music that fans of Snow Patrol and Vedera should eat the hell up -- it has more of a cinematic, progressive bent to it than those bands, even. -----Jason Harper:The Pitch----- "The band''s sound comes closer to good Britpop
