Christian Pincock is an active trombonist, composer and educator who is adept in a musical situations including commercial, standard, avant garde, experimental and performance art. Christian has composed and arranged works for big band, jazz combos, brass ensemble, popular music groups, studio orchestra, film, and experimental ensembles while living in Boston, New York and Albuquerque and has shared the stage with well-known artists including Bobby Shew, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Bob Brookmeyer and George Garzone.
He plays his own original jazz compositions in a quartet and is also an active touring artist, having presented original compositions, lectures, workshops and workshops throughout the United States.
Christian holds a bachelor of music degree from New England Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music in jazz studies. He currently teaches Music For Dancers and Improvisation at University of New Mexico, High School Honors Jazz Bands and the Community Jazz Big Band at the New Mexico Jazz Workshop and individual lessons to jazz students and brass instrumentalists. Christian also hosts a weekly radio show called The House That Jazz Built on KUNM 89.9 FM Albuquerque/Santa Fe.
