Thirteen-year-old Edwina Spoonapple, from PawPaw, Michigan, hails from a family of very talented siblings. Yet she worries her talents are less award-worthy.
Although she has achieved local popularity as a trustworthy advice-giver to her peers, offering clever advice on kid-troubling issues that run the gamut from what to do when offered icky food to how to deal with a truly annoying brother, there is no award for a job well done. Her advice is given via entertaining vignettes which star her loyal friends and neighbors, produced from her family's garage. When the opportunity for national recognition arises with the upcoming “Advice-A-Palooza” festival, Edwina sees her chance to shine!
To put on the best show ever, Edwina must rely on the support of her friends and family, but also on her personal best efforts. Win or lose, she comes to realize, not every reward is an award, ribbon, or report card to put on the fridge.
Written in the style of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! and YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, Dear Edwina Jr. proves there are no small parts when everyone gets their chance to shine!
