Albuquerque’s Native American community will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate their culture this April. The Native Guitars Tour will feature seven acclaimed national acts, each bringing their own brand of roots music. The concerts will coincide with the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow, and will be a key event for the Native American community.

Rock & Metal Round Dance will take place starting 8pm on April 27th, at Hooligans Tavern, which is located at 9800 Montgomery Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111. This event brings out the heavier side of the Native America repertoire.

Master of ceremonies for the night will be multi award winning comedian and actor Earnest Tsosie, III. This Navajo comedian is know from the “James and Ernie” comedy duo and the film “Mile Post 398” and is currently in support of his “Awkward Moments” live DVD. The Saturday night ball includes Ethnic De Generation (Kayenta, AZ) who will be headlining the event bringing original metal-core music from the Navajo Nation. Los Angeles, CA duo, Miracle Dolls is supporting their newly released “Kiss Me Auras” album. Saturday night’s event will also host the EP release party of Acoma Pueblo’s, When Darkness Falls. Hosting the nights event is The Jir Project Band (Cochiti Pueblo, NM), winner of the North American Indigenous Image Award for outstanding blues album.

Saturday is only $12, and is a great way to celebrate Native American culture, and see the different directions artists are taking. Tickets are available at
