My name is Nora Germain and I am a violinist living in Los Angeles, California. I play beautiful and uplifting jazz and blues music. I love a good melody. You can hear some demo tracks on my SoundCloud or the Music page. I am also a current student at The University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music. I have a 4 track E.P. out called "Let It Rip!" featuring John Storie (guitar), Jon Alvarez (bass), and myself, and it was recorded by a great pianist and engineer, Tommy King. Get it on iTunes: Let It Rip! E.P.
I also enjoy playing violin for TV movies like Hallmark Channel's Strawberry Summer which I acted in and also wrote and played the solo violin part for. I will also be playing in an orchestra for a feature movie this fall, and will announce details of that later!
I love playing with my own band in Los Angeles, usually a guitar trio but I also love playing with a pianist. I add videos as often as I can to YouTube. To get updates on shows, you can sign up for my email list on the Connect Page or send me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org. I also post regularly to Twitter and Facebook and my next show is always posted at the ^ top of this page.
Other than that, I love to play or sit in with other bands, sometimes only for one night and sometimes many. Recently I have had the wonderful opportunity to play with Bruce Forman, Jon Burr, Marc Bosserman, Jeff Goldblum, and Jonathan Batiste. I try to get out and play as much as I can and have started exploring writing my own music, which you can catch at a show or on YouTube as it happens.
This month, my mentor Bruce Forman (who is an incredible bebop guitarist and the leader of Cow Bop) invited me to lead my own band on the road for a tour on Route 66 called Music Licks on 66 which will take place July 18-28, and is promoted by The University of Southern California. See the ROUTE 66 TOUR tab for more info and donate if you want to support us while we're on the road! OFFICIAL SITE: www.lickson66.com
