Dannica was born unto Mark Lowery, a fabulous self-taught musician and artist, and Kathy Bonnell, a wonderful poet. their marriage didn't last long, but their influences are eternal. Dannica's mother wrote about god, poverty, and the afterlife; Dannica was so young that she didn't quite understand what they meant, but she knew they were powerful and she cried. As a child, she also loved to watch her daddy play music. She would watch in awe as he would "pick and grin." He and his siblings formed a bluegrass gospel band and played at local churches, but after he died, so did the band. Dannica inherited his old acoustic guitar. and somewhere in between then and now, she met a boy, who gave her more than enough to write about.
