Kim Treiber (guitar, vocals; songwriter): Kim says, 'My mom force fed old country (we're talkin' Loretta, Cash, Waylon, Willie and the boys) to me at an early age, and I rebelled, first playing bass in an 80s rock band, 'The Bohiems', later becoming a folkie, still leaning in the rock genre, but mostly writing totured love songs and political/social stuff in the band 'Burning Joan.' For giggles, in 2003 I recorded a bastardized version of 'Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain' for my mom's birthday, and it all took off from there. I realized my roots had caught up to me and I liked it. We recordered the CD Blue Hearted Girl at Howlin' Dog Studios in Alamosa, Co. and in Nashville. I live in Taos, New Mexico with my children; work with homeless youth at the DreamTree Project garden ride my horse, Nugget, up in the mountains (just like the song says) and sing big 'ol twangy country every chance I get.' chip Chipper Thompson (lead/rhythm guitar, mandolin, & vocals; songwriter): Chipper Thompson was born and raised in Limestone County, Alabama, to a father who played steel guitar in the 'Army-Air Force Country Band' between World War II and the Korean War. Chipper moved to Taos, New Mexico in 1991 and has been a professional songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist ever since. He has released three CD's worth of his own brand of 'folk-n-roll' music, as well as a CD of 'Celto-Appalachian murder ballads' called Am I Born To Die with partner Mason Brown, and a CD of original and traditional music for two bouzoukis, The Janissary Stomp, with partner Roger Landes. Chipper, with Don Richmond of Howlin' Dog Records, co-produced the two Burning Joan CD's (Kim's previous band with Kirsten Parsons) and the Blue-Hearted Girl CD for Kim and the Caballeros. In the Caballeros, Chipper sings and plays lead/rhythm guitar and mandolin. Learn more about him at his website, More about Chip
