The Tumbleweeds began as a duo on the Williams – Grand Canyon railway.
They never could have dreamed that eight years later they’d find
themselves in New Mexico joined by some of the best musicians in the
state. But a dream it is for each one of the Tumbleweeds to share the
joy of traditional Country, Western Swing and Honky Tonk with music
lovers of all ages.
The blues influenced Texas fiddling of Joe Carter perfectly
complements his singing style. Jordan Ripley’s bell like voice and
swing era phrasing will delight you as she strums the banjo. Byron
Ripley expertly thumps away on rhythm guitar, and together with bass and
drums, lays down a strong infectious beat. And no western group would
be complete without the high lonesome and rollicking steel guitar of
Johnny “Speedbump” Feldman or the swinging steel guitar of Art Maya.
The Tumbleweeds would be thrilled to bring their brand of music to any
restaurant, beer joint or party that’s looking for fun, danceable music
firmly rooted in the crossroads of American life and culture.
