Join us Tuesday, February 27th at Violet Crown Cinema in Santa Fe to learn more about various state incentives in NM. 


Speaker Panel Includes


Johanna Nelson is a Finance Development Specialist on the Finance Team for the NM EDD. She also manages the FUNDIT and Rural Efficient Business programs and has been instrumental in creating the NM Credit Enhancement Program for the State, a new program targeted at helping businesses in “underserved markets” with collateral shortfalls. Johanna recently completed all coursework for the International Economic Development Council and is preparing to take the final certification exam at the end of March. She has owned several small businesses, has served as an elected official and is currently the owner of a start-up ecommerce site for teachers as a side gig to her day job. She is passionate about economic development and assisting business owners and communities navigate their financing needs.

Julia Wise is a scientist with a background in education, health care, and technology transfer who now works in technology based economic development. As the Manager of the Office of Science and Technology for the New Mexico Economic Development Department she works to create, support, and lead programs that allow New Mexico’s science and technology based economy to grow and thrive. She has an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry and a Masters and Doctorate in Geology. In addition to contributing to several boards and committees in New Mexico she serves on the task force for the Pentland Centre for Sustainability’s initiative on global risk assessment in collaboration with IBM Watson and volunteers for STEM Santa Fe. She was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM and now is enjoying rediscovering her home state.

Patrick Gannon is the Marketing Coordinator for the Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) with the New Mexico Economic Development Department. In this role, Patrick works directly with early stage, start up and expanding businesses throughout the state. He has over eighteen years of experience working in both economic and workforce development. Patrick has a bachelor’s degree from UNM, Anderson School of Management.

Parking is available in the underground lot, which has an entrance on North side of REI. Park on the south side of the garage and walk up to the theater.
