The Almost Patsy Cline Band first and foremost, despite its name the group isn’t a Patsy Cline tribute band. Its repertoire does contain many of the late legend’s most notable titles but, “Almost Patsy Cline” could just as easily have been named for “almost” any C/W star of the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s because they cover the hits from all of them. Focusing on “Classic Country,” the band is known (and respected) for its stirring renditions (not imitations) of those ever-popular chart-toppers made famous by the very best of yesteryear. So why the “oldies?” As Lanette Pennell, the group’s founder explains, “I’ve loved this type of music all of my life. Growing up, our family danced to these tunes every week.
