Austin icons, Butch Hancock and Gurf Morlix, take the El Mercado stage on December 14th, for a song swap extraordinaire. One of America's great songwriters, Hancock penned classics have resonated with fans for decades with his super-group, The Flatlanders, and headliners like, Emmylou Harris and The Texas Tornados.



A premier songwriter in his own right, Gurf Morlix is also one of Austin's most sought after producers and instrumentalists. After Making groundbreaking records for country luminaries like Lucinda Williams and Ray Wylie Hubbard, Morlix set his sights toward songwriting, and has since produced a number of critically acclaimed albums.

Now, for the first time, the legendary performers share the same stage. Gurf Morlix and Butch Hancock, two of Austin's most revered musicians, singing their own songs together in an intimate setting is truly something, "Out of the Ordinary."
