For several decades, Northern New Mexico has been a breeding ground for many young jazz musicians who have moved on to enrich vibrant jazz communities in cities like Los Angeles, New Orleans, and New York. Collectively their talents have elevated them to positions in symphony orchestras and the bands of Michael Buble and Jane Monhiet, traveling all over the world.

Guitarist GREG RUGGIERO is one of several born and bred New Mexico Jazz musicians. He grew up in Albuquerque where he still has family. Now living in New York for the past eighteen years, Greg is one of the busiest musicians in town, continuously working in just about every jazz club, including some of the most prestigious: Dizzy’s Coca Cola, The Jazz Standard, Smalls, Birdland, and Mezzrow.

He currently leads his own trio with two New York legends, Steve Little and Murray Wall, while at the same time performing with the Michael Kanan Trio. On occasion when he can get away from his busy schedule, he returns to New Mexico to visit family and perform with old friends. SFMC is always there to scoop him up for an exclusive Santa Fe concert. Please help us celebrate the music of this talented musician at Club Legato, Friday, April, 22nd at 6pm. Performing with Greg will be Bob Fox on Piano, Asher Barreras on Bass, and John Trentacosta on Drums.
