Following his tenure with the JGB, Kemper returned to session work, including an extensive run with Bob Dylan from 1996-2001 (both on the road and on studio recordings like 1997’s Time Out of Mind and 2001’s Love &amp; Theft). Seals continued to tour after Garcia’s death, leading a new version of the JGB. Now, Kemper’s career will come full circle when the drummer replaces Sam Howard in the current incarnation of the JGB. The latest version of JGB features Seals, bassist Martin Holland, singers Judith Coleman and Mary Holland and guitarist Stu Allen.
