Hometown: Detroit, MI & Nashville TN

"The Deadstring Brothers do the early-70s Rolling Stones sound as well as anyone, including what's left of the Glimmer Twins themselves. But they build an identity of their own with their stolen blueprints, turning in flinty, soulful performances that bring infectious vitality to bluesy rockers and boozy honky-tonk." —Chicago Reader

“The band has that ragged blues-meets-country-rock groove down cold, with plenty of slashing guitar work and a rhythm section that could pulverize concrete. They come charging out of the gate with attitude and energy to spare and a relentless mid-tempo thump that never lets up.” —Harp Magazine

The Deadstring Brothers' heart beats with pure rock and roll. Simple and shor 'nuff. Built on a the unshakable foundations of blues, rock country and soul, DSB manages to create something at once totally fresh but totally recognizable. It's all ragtops and cold beer, seeds and stems, gatefold LPs and foxy girlfriends with tight, flared jeans. You can imagine them walking as a gang down Carnaby street in London in the late 60's, or tearing up the stage at Cobo Hall in De-troit Rock City or sweating buckets at a Muscle Shoals recording session in…

Who'd of ever thought that one of the most compact, solid, hard-hitting hardcore bands would reside below the mason dixon line in the same state that raised Elvis? ...Welcome CLENCHED FIST, the south's answer to MADBALL meets NEGATIVE APPROACH. CLENCHED FIST have been toiling in the underground scene for years now and have managed to tour extensively with a relentlessly driven work ethic. The band had shared the stage with many staples of the scene such as Madball, Hatebreed, Death Threat, and tons more as they labored from city to city getting their music out to those who needed it.

After a successful split release with Canada's DAY OF MOURNING, the band will now see the fruits of their labors with the release of their debut full length release, "Welcome To Memphis". CLENCHED FIST storm and stomp through track after track of unrelenting raw hardcore that combines the late eighties fast hardcore style of Negative Approach with the metallic hardcore crunch perfected by Madball. With a bonus track in which the band covers the classic song "Street Kids" by STARS AND STRIPES, the band leaves an indelible fist-print left from this sonically crushing, tight Tennessee punch.
GONER RECORDS & THE HITONE PRESENT
MIKAL CRONIN
Conceived and recorded as a sort of therapy to help cope with
adjusting to post-college life, an ensuing break-up and geographic
isolation Mikal Cronin steps momentarily away from the rhythm section of
Orange County surf-punk bashers The Moonhearts with his debut solo
album.
Fans can take heart, this isn’t a ‘vanity project’ or half-baked
endeavour — Mikal’s solo debut is fully realized, cohesive and
beautiful. With themes that are personal as they are universal;
questioning the future, accepting the past and living in the moment.
Taking influences such as the late sixties Del Shannon and The
Everly Brothers and filtering them through his own mutant Californian
fuzz, Mikal deftly explores his singer-songwriter side that at moments
feel like a punk Harry Nilsson or Curt Boettcher – balancing sweet
melodies and chords with chunky, psychedelic guitar freakouts. Don’t let
the opening Beach Boys harmonies of ‘It’s Alright?’ fool you into
thinking this record can be easily pinned down.
With long time friend and collaborator, Ty Segall producing, Eric Bauer (Ty Segall, Royal Baths) running the tape machine and guest like John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees,
you can be sure you’re in for…

Doors @ 8pm
Ticket Price: TBA
LA LUZ (Seattle, WA)
Featuring Shana Cleveland (guitar), Marian Li Pino (drums), Abbey Blackwell (bass), and Alice Sandahl (keyboards); the group brings a relaxed beach-babe vibe to their take on the sweet, thick harmonies of 60’s girl-group, garage, and doo-wop bands. Born in the Summer of 2012, La Luz is driven by thumping, energetic bass lines, danceable surf beats, trembling organ, reverb-soaked guitar, and a wild love of rock ‘n’ roll. The band recorded their first EP Damp Face with the help of their friend Johnny Goss in a sweaty apartment across from the laundry room in a Bothell, WA trailer park. The initial run of 100 home-dubbed cassettes sold out after the bands’ first few shows and in February 2013, Burger Records re-popped the cassette. A full length record is now in the works and La Luz looks forward to inspiring damp-faced dance parties in clubs, basements, theaters, and backyard seances all over the world

KATIE AND THE LICHENA 4 piece pop-verisimilitudes/sister/pop-verite, all female band. Playing ukes, and melodicas, guitars and drums, and more. They focus on the anti-pop-anti-folk aspects of the lo-fi music universe, this includes crunching class divisions and endorsing and eating feminism. They are unladylike. They are encouragable, endearing and effing adorable.' Following up 2011 and 2012's North American Smash Patriarchy Tour with Calvin Johnson (Beat Happening/K Records), Katie and the Lichen are on tour this spring, summer and fall with the release of "Yours Truly," the newest member of their releases.

OK VANCOUVER OKOK Vancouver OK is a 3 piece do-it-together lo-fi no-wave experimental pop band playing songs written and sung by guitarist Jeff with Liza on bass and Laura on drums. Honest to the point of discomfort, OK Vancouver OK's introspection creates an irrevocable openness that is impossible for audiences to ignore. With songs focusing on anti-capitalism, food, water and love. On tour spring/summer/fall 2013 promoting their new LP 'Food Shelter Water' across North America, Western and Eastern Europe.okvancouverok.bandcamp.com

With photo art reminiscent of William Eggleston and a few Big Star personnel in evidence, crash into june are not shy about reminding you they're from Memphis. Nor should they be. This sophomore release has been in the can for over a year awaiting release, and it's well worth the wait, one of the finest Memphis pop records of the last 10 years.

This time out, Neilson Hubbard produced the record (as well as adding harmonies to most songs and some instrumentation, too). It's tempting to credit Hubbard with crash into june's elevation from 'good' to 'great,' while noting that this album sounds more nearly like the great Hubbard record I've been awaiting than the new one under his own name. Ardent regular Richard Rosebrough adds percussion, as he did to Big Star records, while one of the best tracks (an unreleased two-year-old Hubbard composition), "Just A Guy," features short-time Big Star bassist John Lightman (who never actually appeared on a studio Big Star track). Hubbard pal Garrison Starr adds lovely harmonies to "Halfway There."

But it's the Norris brothers, Dave and Johnny, along with guitarist Dylan Cranmer and…
