One of the most outstanding instrumentalists in rock over the past 40 years, Texas guitarist Eric Johnson was already a legend before he recorded his first album. By the early 1980s, many celebrated guitarists were singing the praises of this skinny kid from Austin with the mind-melting chops. Comparisons were made to such guitar heroes as Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix and when he joined the '70s Austin fusion band Electromagnets they were being hailed as "the Mahavishnu Orchestra of Texas." With the release of his highly-anticipated 1986 solo debut album Tones, the underground guitar legend finally emerged onto the scene fully-formed. It landed him on the cover of Guitar Player magazine, which hailed the album as a "majestic debut," and earned him his first Grammy nomination for the song "Zap." With the release of his follow up album, 1990’s platinum-selling Ah Via Musicom, which contained the Grammy Award-winning song "Cliffs of Dover", Eric Johnson became a bona fide international guitar phenomenon.
Over the course of more than four decades, Eric Johnson has been traveling on a prolific odyssey. Along…
"Two singer-songwriters sit on the edge of a cliff…"
With these words, we are drawn into the world of Both Sides Now—a theatrical concert that explores the music and lives of long-time friends and one-time lovers, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. Created by and starring Robbie Schaefer and Danielle Wertz, the cabaret-style performance traverses decades alongside songs such as "A Case of You," "Hallelujah," "Big Yellow Taxi," "Suzanne," and many more. Both Sides Now is at once a piece of the 60s and 70s, and of right now—offering us a story about the messiness of being human, of lives persistently lived at the edge of growth, and of finding the courage to turn toward one another, again and again.
Robbie Schaefer is a rabbi, singer-songwriter and theatre/film artist. The guitarist and songwriter for the indie folk band Eddie From Ohio has several solo releases as well, including the 2023 single "Under the Sun." He is the founder of Lamplighters, an online community that cultivates small-batch, relationship-driven, inclusive Judaism.
Danielle Wertz is a storyteller, collaborator, jazz…

Steve Earle - 08/08/2026

Steve Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation. A protegé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his record Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and is now regarded as a classic of the Americana genre. Subsequent releases like The Revolution Starts...Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009) received consecutive Grammy Awards.
Restlessly creative across artistic disciplines, Earle has published both a novel and collection of short stories; produced albums for other artists such as Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams; and acted in films, television (including David Simon's acclaimed "The Wire"), and on the stage. In 2009, Earle appeared in the off-Broadway play "Samara," for which he also wrote a score that the New York Times described as "exquisitely subliminal." Earle wrote music for and appeared in "Coal Country," a riveting Public Theater…
International Guitar Night is the world's premier touring guitar festival, each show bringing together the most interesting and innovative acoustic guitarists to exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. For each tour, IGN founder Brian Gore brings together a new cast of guitar luminaries for special evenings of solos, duets, and quartets that highlight the dexterity and diversity within the world of acoustic guitar. Brian founded IGN in 1995 as a forum for the world's finest guitarists/composers to play their latest original songs and share musical ideas and talent with their peers.
The performers will each play a solo set in the first half of the show; in the second half, they will collaborate in duos and trios, as well as all together.
IGN is celebrating its 27th Anniversary with the debut of Roxane Elfasci, the award-winning classical virtuoso from France, and three all-time IGN favorites: Acoustic Rock dynamo Luca Stricagnoli from Italy, mellow Slack Key master Jim Kimo West from Hawaii, and the irrepressible blues slide guitar powerhouse Minnie Marks from Australia.
