Curtis Lee

Curtis Lee was born in Peoria,Illinois where he grew up listening and singing to his mother and fathers 8track tapes and 45 records ranging from great artists such as Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and The Jackson 5. His mother could also attribute to his love of music because she grew up singing in choirs and he would sometimes hear her powerful soprano voice echo thru the house and enjoyed listening. Curtis enjoyed music and singing a lot but only as a hobby. It wasn't until he realized thru hearing from his family and voice teachers from grade school that he could actually have a successful career singing. So he dropped his dream of becoming a pro football player and began to listen to and study different types of music and artist as well as studying classical and jazz voice at Texas State University to hone in his craft. Currently Curtis Lee lives in the live music capital of the world Austin, Texas. Where he has started his professional live singing career in the music scene of Austin four years ago gigging nightly on 6th, 5th and 4th street at some of the most popular clubs and venues downtown with a 60 ‘s and 70’s Funk and Soul Cover band called The Bumps. He has also performed with such bands as The Atlantic's ,London Calling ,The 80h Project,M.A.S.K and In The Pink and is currently singing with a Soul Pop band called Dahebegebees and is working on his 1st studio EP Album release. Curtis Lee would like to take his singing career to the next level and become established as an original soul artist in the music business and create a nice sound for all ears to hear. So look out for him in the near future.
