A young musician, tormented by an abusive situation at home, must contend with a rival singer, a burgeoning romance, and his own dissatisfied band, as his star begins to rise.  Starring Prince, Apollonia Kotero and Morris Day.

Celebrate Prince’s birthday with a screening of Purple Rain at the historic KiMo Theatre!  Q&A to follow with Prince’s lifelong friends and guitarists Dez Dickerson and Micki Free. Other special guests in attendance.

Experience a once in a lifetime event with a concert performance by rock stars who knew and performed with Prince. 

The ALL STAR BAND includes:

Micki Free - guitar (Discovered by Gene Simmons of KISS, Grammy Award Winner, Shalamar guitarist, and co-star with Prince in the infamous "Dave Chappell Basketball Skit "Shirts Against The Blouses")

Dez Dickerson - guitar (Original member and guitarist with Prince, MTV Super Star with Princes smash hit song "Little Red Corvette")

Steve Ferrone - drums (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Average White Band)

David Santos - bass guitar (Elton John, Billy Joel, John Fogerty)

Local New Mexico musicians and vocalists to be announced along with other special guests!

Wear your purple and white or diamonds and pearls as AFME hosts this fundraiser for the AFME Foundation and Cultivating Coders. There will be prizes for the best dressed in Prince related outfits, and specialty food and drink menus.
