Join us every other Friday from June 1-Aug. 24 (except July 27 & Aug. 17) for free movies in Railyard Park! The Santa Fe Railyard movie series takes place on the beautiful Railyard Park Performance Lawn in the heart of the Railyard Park, located at the intersection of Paseo De Peralta and Cerrillos Rd. Directions and parking info are on the Railyard web site. (You can also download a map [JPG] showing all of the Railyard parking and transportation options.)
Register for the event and we'll send you updates if there are any schedule changes as well as info on future free Railyard programs and events around Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
Help us turn the Railyard Park into an African safari on June 1st!
Join Railyard Park Conservancy and Communities in Schools for a free "Lion King" themed crafting event. Meet at 7 PM at the Railyard Community Room (701 Callejon) where materials will be provided for your child to make a cardboard safari animal before the movie (think zebras, lions, and elephants!) Once it gets dark, your masterful creations can be parked on the lawn for a Lion King Safari "Drive-In." Craft-making ends at 8:30pm.
An unforgettable story, breathtaking animation, beloved characters, and Academy Award-winning music (Best Original Score, 1994; Best Song, "Can You Feel The Love Tonight") set the stage for the adventures of Simba, the feisty lion cub who "just can't wait to be king." But his envious Uncle Scar has plans for his own ascent to the throne, and he forces Simba's exile from the kingdom. Alone and adrift, Simba soon joins the escapades of a hilarious meerkat named Timon and his warmhearted warthog pal, Pumbaa. Adopting their carefree lifestyle of "Hakuna Matata," Simba ignores his real responsibilities until he realizes his destiny and returns to the Pride Lands to claim his place in the "Circle of Life." The all-star vocal talents—including Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, and Ernie Sabella—rip-roaring comedy, and uplifting messages of courage, loyalty, and hope make this timeless tale entertainment for all ages.
"A crown jewel of modern Disney animation." (Hollywood Reporter)
