Join us for an all-star tribute to SIR DOUG’S 1972 THANKSGIVING JAM!
Featuring members of Armadillo All Stars, Deadeye, Greezy Wheels, Silo Road, and special guests.
On Thanksgiving in 1972, Doug Sahm invited Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Leon Russell and local musicians including Sweet Mary Hattersley to join him for a surprise jam at the Armadillo World Headquarters. Word of mouth spread quickly and over a thousand lucky fans were treated to a completely spontaneous set of unrehearsed classic blues, rock, country, and western swing.
On Black Friday 2018, an all star cast of Austin performers will recreate this incredible set as an homage to the departed icons from the original show and as a fitting farewell to the legendary venue Threadgill's World Headquarters that will close at the end of the month.
