Pigment & Pherkad

8pm / All Ages / FREE SHOW

Santa Fe-based Pigment is an eclectic group that explores a fusion of original rock and other music genres (jazz, Latin, country, reggae) through organized improvisation. Original works are aggressive, soothing, thought provoking, sensitive and exhilarating.

Founder and lead vocalist, Ryan Welsh, plays guitar and harmonica. Local radio pro, Chris Diestler, plays saxophone and keys. Jerome Gerard plays keyboards. The rhythm section is held down by Christian Smith on bass and two drummers. Santa Fe DJ (Spinifex) and KSFR radio host (Twisted Groove), David Barsanti, plays a trap kit and Jim Attlesey adds drums & percussion.

Pigment plays original songs from the band's first album, "Pigment," its upcoming release "Crows and Elephants," as well as new material. The band believes in community through music, and is involved with many local causes. Pigment's music appeals to people of all ages--from kids to old rockers.

Born out of a stoner's living room. Cheese and Jason had the time and vision to finally get together and begin a new project forging sounds into the musical unknown The duo was joined shortly afterwards by Zac Ramsey who tickles the ivory every night. Now dropping the bass bombs., Chris "Chrispy" Patchett brings an adventurous low end that never stops groovin! Javier Ortega now joins the band bringing the shredding guitar to the front lines of the funk. The future is bright, better bring ya sunglasses.
