From Oak Ridge Boys Management:
The Oak Ridge Boys are cancelling their tour dates for the next two weeks due to rising COVID-19 cases across the U.S.
Cities affected by these cancellations are Prestonburg, KY; Liberty, NC; Bensalem, PA; Syracuse, NY; Orem, UT; Puyallup, WA and Grande Ronde, OR. Plans are for the Elvira 40 Tour to be resumed on Thursday, September 16 at the Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City.
“We pray for America as once again we are going through some tough times,” said Joe Bonsall, 48-year member of The Oak Ridge Boys. “Our sincere apologies to those who will be inconvenienced and disappointed over the next two weeks. We will be actively working to reschedule these dates. And, while we are disappointed as well, we are confident that we are doing the right thing at this time.”
The Oak Ridge Boys
Theirs is one of the most distinctive and recognizable sounds in the music industry. The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of The Oak Ridge Boys have spawned dozens of Country hits and a Number One Pop smash, earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM awards and garnered a host of other industry and fan accolades. Every time they step before an audience, the Oaks bring four decades of charted singles, and 50 years of tradition, to a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere. And each remains as enthusiastic about the process as they have ever been.
Their history will now forever be enshrined in the hallowed halls of the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee, where The Oak Ridge Boys—Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban—were inducted on October 25, 2015.
The Oaks’ high-energy stage show remains the heart and soul of what they do, and they refine it several times a year, striving to keep it fresh well into the future.
Ronnie Milsap
Born blind, Ronnie Milsap’s grandparents gave the boy over to the North Carolina State School for the Blind hoping for a better chance. There, Milsap discovered music – deviating from the school’s classical curriculum to explore the nascent realms of race music, rock & roll and jazz.
Being the brilliant kid he was, it wasn’t long until he’d found his way into the local clubs and the tiny indie labels. Suddenly, he was sharing bills with Ray Charles and James Brown on a circuit that included the Howard Theater, the Royal Peacock, and more.
Forty #1s. Five decades of charted singles. Creating a new way of recording, he broke genre rules and became one of the biggest pop/AC and even R&B artists of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. Six Grammys. CMA Entertainer of the Year and four Album of the Year Awards. The first country video played on MTV (the ironic “She Loves My Car”). An early champion of NFL star Mike Reid, who wrote many of Ronnie’s #1 hits and who’d go on to write Bonnie Raitt’s second most enduring classic “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”
Don’t miss your chance to see them live!
