About C4AC-
C4AC works directly with our partner charities in the planning, budgeting, and production of music concerts. We are actively involved in all aspects, from plan development, marketing, sponsorship sales, ticket sales, talent acquisition, and booking venues.
Now we have taken the next step. In 2017 we created the C4AC Music Series. The Austin Community Foundation (ACF) is the administrator of the "C4AC Music Series" fund. ACF is a non-profit organization, tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code of 1986. As such, all contributions to the "C4AC Music Series" are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and purchases by the Foundation are tax exempt.
Who We Are
A little over 10 years ago Sharon and I began looking for charitable causes we could support. That led to a meeting with Jeff Gordon and our decision to actively support The Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation in its fight against childhood cancer. We are extremely grateful to Jeff and his staff for introducing us to this incredibly important cause and for allowing us to actively participate in a variety of fund raising and volunteerism opportunities.
In our time working with Jeff's Foundation we focused on helping to create awareness for, and providing support to, the overall efforts to develop a cure for childhood cancers. We were also tasked to focus on providing direct support to children and families dealing with cancer in our own communities. As a result, we provided fundraising and event support programs for the Dell Children's Blood and Cancer Center. Culminating in the development and production of the extremely successful Give Hope Event in October of 2015.
In the spring of 2016 we saw an article about Camp Grey Dove, a program run by Any Baby Can for the siblings of children with cancer. After visiting with the leadership, and learning of the wide range of their programs, we offered our assistance in developing the Chords for Kids concert series to help raise funds to send almost 50 siblings to Camp Grey Dove in 2017.
As our contacts in the music community grew and, as we began to meet individuals involved in a wide variety of special causes, we saw an opportunity to take our concert model and help other charities use this approach to raise funds for their specific causes. That led us, along with my sister Nancy Murray, to form the C4AC Music Series, a not for profit operating under the umbrella of the Austin Community Foundation. As a result, 100% of the net operating profits from our events is shared among our partner charities.
