AMP Residencies provide artists an opportunity to perform several shows in New Mexico, visit schools, do workshops and get to know our beautiful state and people. These are great opportunities for the groups and for all of us! Check back to see a schedule of concerts and activities.

Kaki wowed us with her immersive The Neck is the Bridge to the Body at the Outpost in 2018.  She’s taken the technology from that show in new and exciting directions that allow them to be done in a more flexible way. We are excited to explore these options with her in cool art spaces in New Mexico, as well as doing some workshops and school visits with Kaki.

Kaki will perform her Modern Yesterdays piece inside the Helen Pashgian: Presences exhibit for a site-specific performance that will be a dramatic dialog between music and art. Attendance to each performance is limited to 60 people.

Tickets cost $30 in advance, $35 day of show (including all service charges). They are also available by phone through Hold My Ticket at 505-886-1251.

Composer and musician Kaki King is considered one of the world's greatest living guitarists, known both for her technical mastery and for her constant quest to push the boundaries of the instrument. Hailed by Rolling Stone as "a genre unto herself," Kaki has released 9 albums and toured extensively, presenting in such prestigious arts centers as the Kennedy Center, MoMA, LACMA, The Met and Smithsonian Design Museum. She has created music for numerous film and TV soundtracks, including August Rush and Into the Wild, which received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score. She has performed with symphonies and chamber ensembles, and recorded an album in collaboration with the Porta Girevole Chamber Orchestra commissioned by the Berklee College of Music.

In 2015 Kaki launched "The Neck is a Bridge to the Body," a groundbreaking multimedia performance that toured extensively throughout the world, marking her first foray into multimedia and experimental theater. Kaki's multimedia project, DATA NOT FOUND, redefined her guitar as a tool for storytelling, exploring contemporary issues like A.I., the natural world, "big data" and personal empowerment. She continues this evolution with her latest program - MODERN YESTERDAYS - which we can't wait to see her perform!
