This year, Ladies Sing the Blues will focus on a few of the women who not only sparked an interest in the blues, but brought the music to a wider and more diverse audience. The show will begin with a dive back into the early 1920s with renditions of some of the songs and artists that helped the music we love become more accessible to the American people. We’ll progress through the 90s with some of the women who really took the blues to another level, incorporating, rock, R&B, soul, and jazz (with lots of blues, of course) into their musical language.
A truly American art form, the blues stands as a basis for almost all contemporary popular music. You don't want to miss this incredible night of music!
