Arnold Bodmer's WARP

In 2022, New Mexico keyboardist Arnold Bodmer, long known for his eclectic and percussive style, and drummer Waldo LaTowsky formed WARP to bring some original tunes, written during the 2020 pandemic, to the stage. Featuring hints of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers with some electronic sounds, and a bit of Funk and Latin flavors, Bodmer described the music, in its early stages of development as such: “Our Influences are somewhere between Weather Report and the Coltrane Quartet with Blues, Latin and Electronica close by. Between composed structures we take the Liberty to stretch out.” Bodmer says they are “Messengers of Music Past & Future!” The band also features Kanoa Kaluhiwa, tenor saxophone; Asher Barreras, bass; and César Bauvallet, trombone and percussion.
