A Boston native , pianist / composer John Funkhouser has shared the stage with a long list of jazz artists from Joe Lovano to Esperanza Spalding, and appeared on over 80 albums including 5 of his own as a leader.  He has performed at clubs and jazz festivals throughout the world including The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and The Kennedy Center in Washington D. C., in addition to several appearances on national television.

As part of the post Covid influx of musicians who decided to make New Mexico their new home, SFMC presented John to a SOLD OUT audience back in 2022 in our “Welcome Series” at Club Legato. When not traveling, John has quickly become one of the most in demand musicians in Northern New Mexico.

The Boston Trio has been together for more than 20 years, performing a mix of music that spans the globe from South Africa to New Orleans and everywhere in between. Including the Great American Song Book. They have headlined at major jazz festivals and clubs including New York’s The Knitting Factory, Smalls and The Cornelia Street Cafe’. Rounding out the trio are longtime band mates Greg Loughman on bass and Mark Connors on drums.

The Music all takes place at 7:00 on Saturday March 16th at Paradiso Performance Space, 903 Early Street. You don’t want to miss this one……….. "Sheer beauty.....one can't help but notice the assured individuality of the musicians' work, each member of the group complementing the others for synergistically effective results."
