A Shout-Out to Albuquerque’s Best

A virtuoso crossover artist in both classical and jazz, trombonist Chris Buckholtz was the principal jazz soloist with the Army’s Jazz Ambassadors in Washington D.C. for eight years.

He phrases beautifully, keeping the interest of the line while never crossing into trite sentimentality”……Frank Gazda; International Trombone association Journal.

Christopher Buckholtz was smooth as silk on trombone”……Cincinnati Inquirer.

To date Chris has three solo albums to his credit, including his 2015 classical / jazz double album VersatilityA la Albeniz from 2012, and the 2006 jazz release Muse, plus four recordings as featured jazz soloist with The Jazz Ambassadors, in addition to several other name artists. He has played with numerous orchestras on concert stages from The Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall, and has performed with Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Phil Woods, Kevin Mahogany, Kenny Werner, Slide Hampton, and Christian McBride.
