Skullfetti

at Humboldt Brews

Time: 8:00pm     Day: Friday     Doors: 7:30pm     Ages: 21+ Ages     Price: $10

Skullfetti plays Grateful Dead music because they love it so much, with long ties to the band and community. These talented musicians play in a variety of other bands and styles, but come together to share their mutual love for this music whenever possible. Formed in 2020, Skullfetti saw the reunion of bassist Gary Davidson and Cal Poly Humboldt percussion lecturer Howie Kaufman, who both played together in Crypitcal Envelopment in 1991, one of the earliest Grateful Dead tribute bands in Humboldt County. After nearly 30 years of not playing together, they along with Michael (Tofu) Schwartz on drums and Barney Doyle on guitar, all played together in Rosewater, one of the premier Grateful Dead tribute bands, and during the pandemic Skullfetti was formed, adding Michael Stephenson on guitar. Recently, former guitarist and Pigpen specialist with Play Dead, Doug Shernock, joined the group. Skullfetti are extremely loyal to the music, having spent many many years listening and absorbing the Grateful Dead sound. They pride themselves on representing the music authentically, but also put their own spin on it. For this show, Chris Devlin, from Grateful Getdown, will be sitting in on keyboards, for what will be an exciting night of classic Dead music. The show starts at 8pm and will go on into the midnight hour.
