LUMBRE DEL SOL
Lumbre Del Sol, an original Chicano Latin rock band from Santa Fe, New Mexico, was formed in 1973 by Chris Abeyta following his service in the U.S. Navy. Influenced by artists like Santana, El Chicano, and Stevie Wonder, the band crafted a unique sound rooted in their Santa Fe heritage. Chris’s sons, Amado and Buddy Abeyta, joined Lumbre Del Sol in the 1990s, fulfilling a lifelong dream of performing alongside their father. In 2002, the brothers founded Sol Fire, continuing the family’s musical legacy. After Chris Abeyta’s passing in 2022, Amado and Buddy have carried on Lumbre Del Sol’s mission, performing in tribute to their father and keeping the band’s spirit alive.
