With his grandfather's accordion, an old Martin guitar, and a harmonica, Felix Gato Peralta blends his Indigenous and Spanish heritage into his music. Drawing from New Mexico's inditas, polkas, and waltzes, he connects these influences to Galicia's melodies.
A blues slinger for 20 years and the bandleader of Felix y los Gatos—a nationally touring group fusing zydeco and Tejano blues—he helps revitalize New Mexico's folk traditions. His work has been featured in PBS films and recognized at the Kennedy Center's Arts Across America program.
