Carib is a deeply personal and powerful musical journey that celebrates the enduring influence of involuntary African disbursement in the Americas. Through his music, Grammy award winning saxophonist, bandleader and composer David Sanchez traces the culture of his own experiences.

Sanchez is recognized around the world as one of the finest saxophonists of his generation. His mastery of the instrument is undeniable and his sound unmistakable. Combine that with Sanchez’s deep-seated knowledge of the traditions of both jazz and Latin music, and the results are extraordinary. The music is a testament to the rich cultural legacy of Puerto Rico and Haiti, two islands with strikingly similar musical traditions despite their complex histories of colonialism, struggle and resilience. Audiences can expect an evening filled with powerful storytelling, soul-stirring melodies, and the undeniable rhythms of the Afro-Caribbean experience. 

Rounding out the quintet will be Ricky Rodriguez on Bass, Obed Calvaire on Drums, Jhan Lee Aponte on Percussion, and Grammy Award Winning pianist Luis Perdomo.
