George Cables Trio

Legendary pianist George Cables helped to define the modern mainstream jazz piano of the 1980s and ‘90s, and  gained recognition playing with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Sonny Rollins, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard and Dexter Gordon. He has recorded over 30 albums as a leader, and has performed and recorded with Roy Haynes, Max Roach, Art Pepper, Woody Shaw, Sarah Vaughn, Dizzy Gillespie, among others. His latest album, I Hear Echoes, was released on his 80th birthday in December 2024, and as he notes, “The echoes are maybe the echoes of my life, or of music that I heard, played and composed. Or they may be of other songs that have stayed with me and that I’ve always wanted to perform.” Tonight, the trio features Alexander Claffy, bass; and Jerome Jennings, drums. $35/$25 Members. $15 students.
