Michael Maricle is devoted to creating beautiful music with purpose.  Michael began playing
piano at the age four, improvising.  Classically trained on piano, Michael studied music
composition and recording at the University of California Santa Barbara College of Creative
Studies.   After graduating, Michael toured the west coast with a jam band, played in electronic
music groups in San Francisco, and ended up in Seattle in 2001, where he began recording and
releasing his own music.  Michael has released over ten albums since 2001, including two
albums with the Monroe Institute’s Hemi-Sync, which releases binaural beat music for focus,
creativity, relaxation and learning.  Michael’s albums reflect a wide variety of musical styles,
from down tempo electronic to jazz and classical, all of which can be found on his
website, www.michaelmaricle.com
In 2010, Michael began playing piano for dance students at the University of Washington
Department of Dance under the guidance of an incredible faculty which supports and nourishes
the relationship between musician and dancer.  Thus began an amazing eight years in Seattle
where Michael played piano for ballet and modern dance at the University of Washington.
During that time he also worked as a dance musician for three years with Pacific Northwest
Ballet, two years with Cornish College of the Arts, and six years with The Ballet Studio.  In 2018
Michael and his wife moved to Santa Fe to see the sun again and be in a smaller artistic
community.  Michael is currently the music director at National Dance Institute in Santa Fe, and
performs 1900’s French cabaret music with his “chanteuse” wife StarBird Inès.
