Bring the whole family for an after-hours wildlife experience as we explore the wonders of Africa's diverse ecosystems. As the zoo transforms for an evening of discovery, guests will journey through some of the continent's most fascinating habitats—from the dense rainforests of the Congo Rainforest to the unique island environments of Madagascar and Aldabra Atoll, and the expansive savannas and lively watering holes that support Africa's iconic wildlife.
Designed for families of all ages, this interactive evening will feature hands-on activities, animal encounters, educational stations, games, crafts, and opportunities to learn about remarkable species such as gorillas, lemurs, giant tortoises, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and more. Discover how animals adapt to their environments, how ecosystems are connected, and why conservation efforts are essential to protecting wildlife around the world.
Want to be directly involved with conservation efforts? Bring old cell phones, tablets and smart watches to be recycled. The ABQ BioPark is a participating member for Gorillas on the Line Campaign. The Gorillas on the Line campaign helps protect wild gorillas by encouraging people to recycle old cell phones and small electronic devices. Many electronics contain minerals that are mined in regions near gorilla habitats in Central Africa, including the Congo Rainforest. By recycling unused devices, participants help reduce the demand for newly mined materials while supporting gorilla conservation and environmental sustainability. Every recycled phone is a small action that can make a big difference for wildlife and their habitats. Meet the zoo’s dedicated giraffe care team and learn how they help care for the BioPark’s giraffe
herd. Giraffe branded merchandise will be available for purchase. All funds will go directly to support giraffe conservation efforts.
Please note that the Africa area of the zoo will be open. The rest of the zoo will be closed.
