Michael Stearns - Film Composer & Sound Designer

Join internationally acclaimed composer, recording artist, and sound explorer Michael Stearns for an intimate evening of music and sonic exploration.

Stearns is widely recognized for scoring the iconic films Chronos, Baraka, and Samsara, as well as his work in IMAX productions, planetariums, and immersive listening environments around the world. For more than four decades, he has pioneered expansive soundscapes that blend electronic music, world instruments, guitar, field recordings, and cinematic sound design into experiences that transcend traditional musical boundaries.

Drawing from a vast palette of synthesizers, guitars, world instruments, and original sonic textures, Stearns invites audiences on a journey of discovery, imagination, and wonder.

Opening the evening is Alias Zone, the electronic music project of Chris Meyer. Meyer is co-founder, with Jim Coker, of Sandia Soundscapes, the Albuquerque-based concert series dedicated to presenting ambient and electronic music experiences throughout New Mexico.
