SUMMARY:ABQ SUMMERFEST IN NOB HILL (Between Girard & Carlisle on Central)
DESCRIPTION:5pm: Citizens of Tape City
Citizens of Tape City (COTC), which been described as "Progressive R&B to Future Soul-Rock," draws influences from all forms of music and was started as studio project of vocalist Josef Scott and bassist Artha Meadors. Through a series of live shows and trading demo recordings, Scott and Meadors developed songs for their first release, an EP entitled She Like Me, collaborating in the studio with drummer Chris Gadson, who also did the mixing and mastering. Currently, COTC is in the final stages of finishing their follow up full length album, Save The Rec, soon to be released through Bubblebath Records. COTC hopes to keep pushing the boundaries of their albums and live shows with the help of their live band, which features Scott on lead vocals; Meadors on bass/synth and programming; Mike Wood on guitar; and Paul Palmer, drums.

6pm: Toni Morgan and Just Us
"Just us" is a group of skilled musicians who have played together for Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for over a decade. In 2011, they took on the name "Just Us," and in 2019, Toni Morgan was added as a vocal part of this musical ensemble. Their style of music includes, Gospel, Jazz, R&B and Neo-Soul. The band members include, Tommy Henderson on keys, Charles Reinke on Organ/Keys, Reynaldo Brown on Bass, Anthony Sanders on Drums, in his absence, Shawn Pitts is holding down the beat. "Just Us" has a special love for music and this has afforded them to play at various events around the city. No gimmicks nothing fancy, "Just Us."

7pm: Michael Herndon & Jubal's Children
Originally from New York City, vocalist, lyricist and arranger Michael Herndon has lived and performed in the Albuquerque area since 1988. Known for Dynamic style, influenced by Jazz, R & B, and Gospel, he demonstrates a fluidity and command of material from classical to reggae. His passion and conviction have electrified audiences over the years and has opened for acclaimed artists such as CoCo Taylor- the undisputed Queen of Blues, the Kenny Neil Band and the Kinsey Report. If asked, Michael will tell you with a quixotic smile that he stopped seeing himself as a "singer" a long time ago, in favor of becoming a "vocal instrument" meshing with instrumentalists. As he says, "Just the lead soloing instrument of the moment within the music as a whole working towards the same goal: Inspiration, innovation, and devotion."
