Albucreepy, NM -- August 28, 2014 --
Beneath
the towering office buildings and twinkling lights of modern downtown
Albuquerque lurk the memories of public hangings, duels, horrific
murders and locations haunted by those who have passed over to the other
side. What better way to experience Albuquerque's history than to
possibly come face to face with a spirit from the past? Albucreepy Downtown Ghost Walk will scare up some fun for locals and visitors beginning
Thursday, September 4th at 8:00 PM. An ABQ Trolley Co. production, Albucreepy is a 90-minute, walking tour of haunted downtown locations led by experienced paranormal investigators. Born from the success of ABQ Trolley Co.'s annual sold
out Trolley of Terror tours,
Albucreepy will feature Albuquerque's most spine-tingling
and hair-raising ghost stories.
As part of the nationwide
success of the ghost tourism industry, coupled with the popularity of ghost
hunting TV shows, Albucreepy will provide an exciting opportunity for ghost enthusiasts
and skeptics alike to visit downtown Albuquerque. Albucreepy features historic (and reportedly haunted) sites, including the KiMo
Theater, Kiva Auditorium, old Bernalillo County Courthouse, Wool Warehouse, and
the former red light district known as "Hell's Half Acre." Whether ghosts are
sighted or not, each tour will include 90-minutes of downtown Albuquerque's
most popular ghost stories. Albucreepy is also a
great after-dinner option for convention goers and locals, and something that ABQ Trolley Co. hopes to be a boon for downtown Albuquerque. Co-owners, Mike Silva and Jesse Herron, "hope that Albucreepy will give people a reason to come downtown. And for locals it will be a chance to reacquaint themselves with the city; afterwards we hope they find a new favorite restaurant downtown or take in a movie at the KiMo or Century Theatre, maybe even an art gallery."
Albucreepy Downtown Ghost Walks begin at Hotel Andaluz, which will provide free valet parking and a free tapas at
on-site bar, Ibiza, or restaurant, Más, for Albucreepy patrons. Hotel Andaluz General Manager, John O'Hara, comments that "Hotel Andaluz is pleased to partner with ABQ Trolley Co. for the Albucreepy Downtown Ghost Walk. ABQ
Trolley Co. has established themselves as leaders in Albuquerque
tourism and we are excited that this new tour will begin and end at
Hotel Andaluz. We look forward to this new and
exciting activity taking place in downtown Albuquerque."
Albucreepy tickets are $25, and are available for purchase
online at www.albucreepy.com beginning September 1st at midnight. The
inaugural tour will take place Thursday, September 4th @ 8:00 PM. The tour schedule is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM. Albucreepy will be offered year-round. Due to its creepy subject matter,
Albucreepy Downtown Ghost Walks are rated PG-13 and are not recommended for
young children. Group tours are
available for birthdays, corporate events, field trips, bachelorette outings,
church groups, class reunions, family reunions and more.
