The Israeli Trio, lead by percussionist extraordinaire Yogev Shetrit, performs a highly entertaining program that explores the Jewish roots and middle-eastern folkloric influences in their modern sound. The exploration of traditional rhythms and musical concepts in a modern Jazz Trio setting is at the core of the Trio's most recent album entitled "New Path". The group will be joined by special guest, New Mexico Jazz Workshop Executive Director, Markus Gottschlich, on piano.
Opening the evening will be the winning quartet of the NM Jazz competition with Evan Fort on piano, Mateo Rembe on bass, Paul Lovato on sax and Jonah Minkus on drums.
