It's 1943 and World War II is raging in Europe. In New York, Arturo and Flora are in love, but she is promised in marriage to a Mafia boss’ son. The only way around this is for Arturo to meet Flora’s father, who lives in a small Sicilian village. Arturo has no money, so he enlists in the U.S. Army in the hopes he’ll deploy to Sicily.
