Taos Freeride Championships

In 2023 Taos Ski Valley is excited to host a 3* Freeride Competition and the 4* Qualifier Finals in conjunction with the International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association and the Freeride World Tour. Taos Ski Valley will also host a 2-day Master Division. 

The 3* Taos Freeride Competition will be held as a 1-day competition on March 21, 2023. Weather day is scheduled for March 22, 2023.   

The 4* Taos Freeride Championship Series will be held on March 23, 2023. Weather day is scheduled for March 24, 2023. This premiere big-mountain event is New Mexico's largest and most prestigious ski and snowboard competition. Athletes from around the globe descend on Taos Ski Valley to test themselves against the resort's famed steeps, chasing the top podium spot and trying to get one step closer to making the Freeride World Tour.

Master Division will be held on March 21, 2023 with the 3* Competition. Weather day is scheduled for March 22, 2023. 

There will be terrain closures for the event. Exact terrain TBD.

REGISTRATION:

You need a FWQ/IFSA membership to register and compete in the 3* and 4* competitions. 

Master division competitors do not need a FWQ/IFSA membership to compete. You must be 40+ to compete in the Master's division.

FWQ 3*:

MASTERS:

• Venue Inspection Day (venue open to the public)
• 4:30PM - 6:00PM: Mandatory 3* & Master athlete check-in, Resort Center

Tuesday, March 21st:

• AM Mandatory Athlete Meeting, location TBD
• 3* Competition & Masters Competition
• Après-Ski: 3* Awards, location TBD

Wednesday, March 22nd:

• Weather Day for 3* Competition
• 4:30PM - 6:00PM: Mandatory 4* athlete check-in, Resort Center

Thursday, March 23rd:

• AM Mandatory Athlete Meeting, location TBD
• 4* Competition

Friday, March 24th:

• Weather Day for 4* Competition
