THE FIREY STRING SISTAS

Indeed they are FIREY, crossing genres at every turn, these highly acclaimed musicians, composers, and much more, have really made an impact on the jazz world in a very short time with their fresh innovative sound. Two of the founding Sistas have jazz roots that run deep, Nioka Workman, the daughter of bassist Reggie Workman and Mala Waldron, daughter of pianist and composer Mal Waldron. The third, Marlene Rice, is a Grammy nominated world touring violinist whose work has been recognized in many jazz circles. Rounding out the quintet will be bassist Belden Bullock and drummer Lucianna Padmore. Once again, SFMC is proud to partner with Outpost Productions to bring this world class group to Santa Fe.
