Christine Fawson's Old School Jazz Quintet: Roll Call: A Tribute to Hank Mobley

Take a trip back in time and groove with The Old School Jazz Quintet featuring trumpeter and vocalist Christine Fawson.  Old School Jazz pays tribute to the great musicians who created the framework and culture of American jazz – the players who inspired us to keep going! Performing Hank Mobley's 1960 album Roll Call and other tunes from the same period featuring the essences of Hank Mobley melodies and the Freddie Hubbard flare, it’s Christine Fawson, trumpet; Alex Murzyn, tenor saxophone; Bert Dalton, piano, Colin Deuble, bass; and Cal Haines, drums.  Christine Fawson moved to New Mexico from Boston, MA where she was a member of the brass faculty at the Berklee College of Music from 2003-2017. A finalist in the 2017 Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Jazz Competition, she has performed around the world and was a member of the vocal jazz group, Syncopation from 2002-2013, with whom she recorded three widely successful CDs and appeared with the Boston Pops Orchestra. She also played trumpet and was a featured vocalist with the DIVA Jazz Orchestra from 2004-2007, performing at Carnegie Hall, the Apollo Theater, and Lincoln Center in NYC.
