Songs Without Purpose

Songs Without Purpose is a dynamic and innovative musical group that draws inspiration from Modern Jazz, Hip Hop, and Soul. This eclectic ensemble brings a fresh approach to their music that is rooted in traditional jazz while pushing the boundaries of genre fusion. The group played their first show in January of 2023 but have years of experience playing together. Evan Fort (keys) and Jonah Minkus (drums) had been playing together for almost 10 years and when they met Alex Alunday (saxophone) during Covid there was an instant connection. Sidney Hollander (trumpet), who had recently moved to Albuquerque from New York was introduced to the group by Alunday and after playing together, they realized the group could be something special. Bassist Artha Meadors adds a powerful foundation to the group's sound. With all musicians involved coming from different backgrounds and influences, Songs Without Purpose is creating music that is sonically captivating and exciting.
