Dan Dowling & Pat Rhoads: The Sonic Boomers

Guitarist and vocalist Dan Dowling and pianist Pat Rhoads have been performing and recording together for four decades. Their concert tonight will include music from Charles Mingus, Freddie Hubbard nand more as well as original compositions. In addition to Dowling and Rhoads, the all-star lineup of The Sonic Boomers is New Mexico Music Hall of Fame inductee John Truitt on sax and recorder; Chuck Coulter on trumpet and flugelhorn; John Griffin, bass; and Waldo Latowski, drums. All of these veteran musicians have a long history together in Albuquerque since the 1970’s. having been members of such classic seminary jazz and rock groups as Alma, Cadillac Bob and many more. So tonight represents an exciting reunion of sorts.
