The New Mexico Jazz Festival is pleased to partner, for the fourth consecutive year, with Dave’s Jazz Bistro for a special Jazz Dinner which will feature a specially curated menu crafted by the skilled chefs at the Santa Fe School of Cooking. This year, the concert features jazz vocalist Tawanda Suessbrich-Joaquim, a proud native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, who began her musical journey at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, where she discovered a deep love for jazz. Inspired by legends like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughan, her sound blends timeless elegance with fresh emotional depth.  In June 2021, Suessbrich-Joaquim made waves in the jazz world by tying for first place in the prestigious 9th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and a year later, she released her debut album, Smile, which earned acclaim for its soulful interpretations and masterful vocal artistry. Now based in Los Angeles, she continues to enchant audiences worldwide. John Rangel is a jazz pianist, composer, and educator who serves as the Jazz Curator at Dave’s Jazz Bistro as well as the Jazz Director at the New Mexico School for the Arts. He has shared the stage with jazz greats, including Nat Adderley, Billy Higgins, Ernie Watts, and Gerald Wilson.
