Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel was a Nobel laureate, activist, adviser to world leaders, and author of more than 40 books. But he always said, “I am a teacher first.” Burger, his student and friend, gives us a front-row seat to Wiesel’s remarkable exchanges in the classroom and out – a primer on educating against indifference and the urgency of memory and individual responsibility. These conversations invite every reader to become Wiesel’s student, and witness.
